VENEZUELA: Uranium for Iran, second edition

It looked as if President Hugo Chávez had got ahead of the game on 7 March when he said that international news agencies were spreading reports that Venezuela was secretly shipping uranium to Iran to make nuclear weapons. It was only the following day that the report made headlines in a Caracas daily - but it was all actually a rehash of stories dating back to mid-2005, probably revived as a result of US intelligence labelling Venezuela a threat because of its links with Iran [WR-06-06].
